Senator Tom Killion congratulated the Borough of Marcus Hook for receiving a state grant for improvements to Mickey Vernon Park.
The $85,600 grant was awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Improvements made possible by the grant include new playground equipment, handicap accessibility enhancements, tree replacement, new mulch areas and fencing.
“This is great news for the children and families in the Marcus Hook area,” said Killion. “The improvements to this park will be substantial, and all residents will be able to enjoy the renovations to this iconic park,” he added.
Killion said, “I thank Governor Tom Wolf and DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn for supporting our local communities with park grants. The outdoor recreational opportunities made possible by these grants will benefit our families for many years to come.”
